3D Printing for University Students in Lebanon

For AUB, LAU, ALBA, USEK, NDU and LU students: what a project print costs, how the student discount works, and how to plan around a deadline.

The short answer

Verified students in Lebanon get 10% off every order, and 15% on a first order placed with a friend's referral code. A typical engineering project part costs $13 to $25 delivered; an architecture massing model is quoted as a project and usually starts around $150. Verification takes a couple of minutes and needs a student ID, which is deleted as soon as it is checked.

Every semester the same thing happens: a project is due, the campus printer has a two-week queue or is broken, and the file is finished at midnight. This page is what we would have wanted to read at that point.

The student rate

  • 10% off every order, once your student status is verified.
  • 15% off a first order placed with a friend's referral code.
  • $15 credit for you each time a friend you referred completes an order.

Verification is deliberately quick: your name, university and a photo of your student ID. We check it, we mark the account verified, and we delete the ID. It is a document that proves who you are, so keeping it after it has done its job would be careless.

What a student project costs

ProjectTypical total delivered
A small mechanism part or test piece$13
A hand-sized engineering prototype$15 – $25
A set of five parts for an assembly$20 – $35
A product design mock-up, 150 mm$25 – $40
An architecture massing modelquoted as a project, from about $150

The $5 delivery and $3.50 order fee are charged once per order, not per part — so if three people on your team need parts, order them together and split the cost of the trip.

Plan around the deadline, not the print

Printing plus delivery is 3 to 5 days. That is the number to work backwards from, and the single most common way a student order goes wrong is ordering on Wednesday for a Friday review.

  1. A week before the deadline, export the file and upload it — even if the design is not final. The quote tool will tell you immediately if the file is broken, and a broken file found on day seven is an inconvenience rather than a disaster.
  2. Order at least five days out. Say the deadline in the notes.
  3. If it is genuinely tight, message us on WhatsApp before ordering rather than after. Scheduling is the part with give in it.

Advice by department

Engineering

Design for assembly clearance — 0.2 mm for a press fit, 0.4 mm to slide — and remember that printed parts are weakest along the direction they were built up in. Tell us where the load comes from and we will orient the part accordingly. For anything that will be tightened repeatedly, design a pocket for a captive nut rather than printing a thread.

Architecture

Check your wall thickness against your scale before exporting: a 200 mm wall is 1 mm at 1:200 and unprintable at 1:500. Below 1:200 print solid massing volumes instead of hollow buildings. A single piece is limited to 250 mm, so larger models are split and bonded.

Product and industrial design

Print in draft quality for form studies — you are judging shape, not surface — and save the fine layers for the final piece. Batch three variants into one order rather than ordering them one at a time; comparing them side by side tells you more than comparing each against your memory of the last.

Working in a group

One person orders, everyone splits it. Because the order fee and delivery are per order, a group order of six parts costs meaningfully less per person than six separate ones — and quantity discounts start at five identical parts, which matters when a whole studio needs the same base.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a student discount for 3D printing in Lebanon?

Yes — 10% off every order once your student status is verified, and 15% on a first order placed with a friend's referral code. You also earn $15 credit each time a friend you referred completes an order.

How do I verify that I am a student?

Give your name and university and upload a photo of your student ID on the students page. We check it, mark the account verified and delete the ID — it has done its job at that point and keeping it would be careless.

Which universities do you work with?

Any student in Lebanon can verify — AUB, LAU, USJ, ALBA, USEK, NDU, BAU, AUST and the Lebanese University are all in the list, and there is an option for anywhere not shown.

How much does an architecture model cost for a student?

Models are quoted as projects rather than instantly, and typically start around $150 for a simple massing model, less the 10% student rate. Send the file and the deadline and you will have a firm price, usually within a day.

How late can I order before a deadline?

Order at least five days out. Printing plus delivery is 3 to 5 days, and the most common way a student order goes wrong is ordering on Wednesday for a Friday review. If it is tight, message us first — scheduling is where the flexibility is.

Can our whole group order together?

Yes, and it is cheaper. The $3.50 order fee and $5 delivery are charged once per order however many parts are in it, and five or more identical parts trigger a quantity discount.

Got a file to print?

Instant price, delivered anywhere in Lebanon for a flat $5.
